Hailing from Pakistan, I've dedicated 5 years to shaping young minds in middle school classrooms, offering a diverse curriculum that encompasses Science, History, English Language, and Literature. Beyond the classroom, I've extended my teaching to low-cost private schools through weekend volunteering at non-profit organizations and social enterprises, amplifying access to quality education.
My journey in education is fueled by a passion for empowering teachers. I've conducted numerous teacher training sessions, bridging both academic and non-academic aspects to enhance pedagogical practices. Complementing this practical experience, I hold a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialized focus on Education Technology, aiming to revolutionize educational paradigms through innovative methodologies.
Yoga found me during a challenging phase in 2019, becoming not just a practice but a lifeline. This discovery ignited a thirst for deeper understanding, leading me to pursue my first 200-hour training in 2020. Recently, I achieved a 200-hour Mindfulness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Certification from Breathe for Change, harmonizing my passion for yoga with my commitment to education.
I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. My research mainly focuses on helping teachers become better at their jobs by improving their training, well-being, motivation, and how they design what they teach. I'm specifically studying how activities like movement and mindfulness can make teachers more emotionally aware and skilled, aiming to make education better for everyone at school and beyond.
I'm excited to fuse my love for yoga with the art of teaching, seeking innovative ways to integrate mindfulness practices into education, nurturing resilient, empathetic, and creative educators.
